 | Calvary Women's Ministries |
ATTENTION, ALL WOMEN!!!
Where can you get a delicious lunch, a morning full of fellowship, exciting
door prizes, and an informative, inspiring program designed just for
you...........all for the low, low price of $2.00?! At the kick-off event
for Calvary's new women's ministry, that's where! "We are All Students" is
the theme for this fun-and-information-filled morning which is being planned
for Saturday, August 28th, right here at Calvary. Following the
back-to-school theme, the event will fill you in on all the plans being
made for classes that will be held in six-week "quarters" (two quarters per
"semester") beginning September 12th. Tickets for the kick-off will be
available in the church foyer on August 8, 15, and 22 or may be purchased at
the door for $4.00 (still a real bargain!).
Classes tentatively being planned for the first quarter (Sept. 12 to Oct.
24) are as follows:
Connect and Grow classes (sessions that will aid YOU either spiritually,
health-wise, or in learning some new skill or hobby):
For Women Only, led by Terri Edgar (A Bible study to help understand the
men in your life)
Praying for Your Adult Children, led by Laurie Keller
Beginning Scrapbooking, led by Ashley Selvey
Connect and Go classes (sessions that will help you reach out to meet the
needs of OTHERS):
Quill Ministry, led by Susan Wilson (writing notes of encouragement and
support to community leaders, men and women in the Armed Services, church
leaders, and others)
Support Group for the Republic Pregnancy Resource Center, led by Becky Rader
(planning and carrying out related projects).
Operation Christmas Child (planning, promoting, and carrying out Calvary's
annual collection of Christmas gifts to be sent to underprivileged children
in other countries).
Ladies who wish to attend the Sunday evening worship service will be able
to do that at 6:00 followed by a Connect and Go class (see above).
Students (that's you!) can attend a Connect and Grow class from 6:00 to 6:50
on Sunday nights and a Connect and Go class from 7:10 to 8:00 that evening
with a coffee break in between. All classes will be free with the exception
of some that may have a nominal fee for supplies. Free child care will be
provided with 48-hour advance notice of the number of children and their
ages. The possibility of some day-time week-day classes in the future is
being discussed. Potential classes for the second quarter (November 7 -
December 12) will be revealed during the "We Are All Students" event on
August 28th. The Wednesday morning Bible studies led by Joyce Barnhart will
continue and will also be under the Women's Ministry umbrella. A new
study on Spiritual Gifts will be held Sept. 8th through Sept. 29th.

For the month of July, the group went to the Missouri Baptist Children’s
Home's Ozark Berry Festival. First we went for breakfast at Ziggies and
then on to Remington’s for some fun, craft shopping and pie and ice cream
eating. YUM!!!
On the 13th (Friday) of August we will have a Vacation Fantasy Lunch!
Please be looking through your favorite vacation photos to bring and share
with everyone. It will also be pot luck lunch so bring something good to
eat.
I can't wait until we get together once again! There is BIG news to share
about an upcoming event in October! Something you won't want to miss!
If you know anyone who needs to plug in with the Sr. events, give them a
call and invite them to join us this month for lunch!
With the love of Christ in my heart, Sugar Sims (766-8389)
