Republic Christmas Parade
Bundled from the tops of their heads to the toes on their feet to ward off
the cold blowing wind, local Calvary missionaries faithfully passed out the
ABC plan of salvation to onlookers at the Republic Christmas parade. When
they finished that mission, they turned around and walked the entire parade
route picking up candy wrappers and various discards from the thousands that
lined the parade route. Amazingly enough, only about ten out of 800
salvation tracts were left on the ground! This means that people took this
tract home with them.
Jesus said in John 4:35b “I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields!
They are ripe for harvest.”
What does that mean to us today at Calvary Baptist? Republic is the field,
and many of the residents are ready for harvest for belief in the Lord.
Please make a commitment to be part of the 2009 local missionary outreach to
Republic. Sign up for a local outreach event--be part of the local harvest
this year!!
Note from Mission Council
The Mission Council wishes to thank everyone for their participation in our
mission outreaches this year. We have witnessed God at work in every
ministry. Lives have been changed by the gospel as we have gone from our 4
walls. Everyone involved has been blessed in some way.
We will start planning in January for another exciting year. We’re always
looking for new ideas to reach our community, our state, our nation, and our
world—come brainstorm with us. The possibilities in serving God are wide
open—we ask for each member to pray what their part will be this year to
make it the biggest and best yet for missions at Calvary Baptist.
