Greetings from the Mission Council!
Have you been thinking, “I really want to serve the Lord, but I just don’t
know what to do?” We all have times in our Christian lives when our desire
to serve just needs a little direction. Here’s where the Mission Council can
help you. These three projects each have several openings, and one or more
of them could be just the right ministry for you.
First of all, the Minuteman Ministry is starting on March 7. This ministry
will provide information and some sort of gift from our church to new
visitors to Calvary. To do this ministry, a person would volunteer one
Sunday a month to deliver gift bags to the front porch of the visitors for
that Sunday.
The second possibility involves working for one hour at the Republic
Business Expo on March 13 at the Republic Community Center. To do this
ministry you would choose an hour between 10-2 to greet visitors as they
visit the Calvary booth and offer them information about our church and a
New Testament.
Our third opportunity for you to serve is a proposed Neighborhood Bible Club
to be held on Wednesday nights this summer when AWANA doesn’t meet. Since
not every child in Republic can attend VBS at our church facility, Calvary
seeks to provide a backyard Bible Club in two neighborhoods in our town. To
do this ministry you would sign up to work one or more Wednesday nights as a
helper for story, game, activity, or snack time.
As you pray about these local mission opportunities, let the Holy Spirit
direct you as you volunteer to help Calvary spread the Good News that Jesus
Christ loves people and desires to save them! Call the office or sign up at
the Welcome Center for more information.
