New Discipleship Training Classes begin January 7.

bulletEsther (Beth Moore Ladies Study)—Going up against heavyweights bent on her destruction, Esther trusted God and landed a blow that saved her people. The Old Testament story of Esther is a profile in courage and contains many modern parallels for today's woman. Esther's destiny can be yours as you know more deeply the God who is in your corner.
bulletFinancial Peace University—Learn how to better manage your finances. There will be an orientation class on Jan. 28 and the first official class will be Feb. 4
bulletDivorce Care—an ongoing video series and support group.
bulletWhen Worldviews Collide—In today’s pluralistic world, Christians routinely encounter other belief systems. The resulting clash of ideals and deeply held beliefs constantly tests our faith.
bulletWhat Every Christian Ought to Know—Essential truths for growing your faith.
bulletYour Work Matters to God—Concentrating upon the critical issues Christians face in the workplace.

Music Notes

Share your musical talents with Calvary in 2009!

Adult Praise Choir will resume practicing on January 11, at 5pm.  7th grade through Sr. Adults are welcome.

We are also seeking strong musicians who would be interested in serving with our Praise Team as well as a Southern Gospel style ensemble (vocals and instruments).  If interested, please contact Dan.  Those interested in the Southern Gospel ensemble will meet for planning on Jan. 11, following the evening service.

Children’s Choir (grades 3-6) will resume practices on January 13, following school.  This spring the children’s choir will continue working with the “Boomwhackers” music pipes as well as beginning to learn the recorder.  Practices are on Tuesdays, from 3:30 to 5pm; and vans pick up children from Republic E-II & E-III as needed.

Make Joyful Noise Handbells will also resume on Jan. 11, following the evening service.  This ensemble is open to anyone above grade 7 with some music reading ability. See Tory Updegrave more information.

January 11, Sunday pm,  we are planning for slightly different evening with some of our bluegrass and other styles of musicians.  Some might say Southern Gospel, others bluegrass, the best description may be “some good ol’ singin’ and pickin’.”  However you describe it, you’ll want to be here for that evening.
