It’s time for the Lottie Moon Christmas offering.  If you would like to donate please use the marked envelopes in the seatbacks or write Lottie Moon on your envelope.

We will also have the Lottie Moon Express off the main foyer.  This "mailbox" allows you to place your Christmas cards for other church members in the appropriate slot and donate the "postage" to the Lottie Moon Offering.

People Helping People Christmas Drive is here again.  This year we have a goal to collect 150 each of canned fruit, cake mixes, jars of spaghetti sauce, and packages of spaghetti by December 4.  There will be specially marked tubs by the Grand Oak Closet.

It's that time again, Calvary missionaries!  Republic's annual Business Expo will be on Saturday, March 10, and volunteers are needed to greet folks with a smile and hand them a New Testament and information about Calvary.  We will again be providing Bibles or Christian DVDs for prizes in hourly giveaways at the event.  If you can help reach out in this way, please sign up at the Missions table in the Information Hallway beginning in February.  Several shifts are available.

Our total gifts for the Lottie Moon Missions Offering which provides most of the support for our 5000+ missionaries internationally stands at $8,811.  This includes $6,500 as set aside by the Missions Team from your missions pledges throughout the year as well as $2,311 given during December in the envelopes designated for this purpose.  Thank you, Calvary, for the way you undergird our Lord's servants so faithfully.

We regret to tell you that our St. Louis mission, The King is Coming Christian Church, has found it necessary to close their doors recently.  Our missions fund had been helping them monthly for the past year, and they have been able to lead several folks in inner-city St. Louis to a one-on-one relationship with Jesus.  We were glad to be able to send enough at this time to help pay their outstanding utility bills.  Please pray for the new Christians there as well as for Pastor Ron Boyer as he seeks employment.

Plans for summer projects are underway and will possibly include one-time evening events at Alpine Village and at a couple of Republic apartment complexes.  These would include a BBQ, musical entertainment, games for children, and befriending residents there who do not attend church and/or who may need to hear about Jesus and His love for them.  Be watching to learn how you can help!

We are very happy to have Erin Johnston join the Missions Team.  Although not officially a member until the next business meeting, Erin has agreed to serve and will be a great addition, having been a missions supporter already by participating in last summer's trip to Nicaragua as well as the St. Louis outreach and other Calvary missions projects.  Other positions on the team are open.   Does the Lord want you to fill one of them?  You may be thinking, "I don't have time to take part in all of Calvary's outreaches."  Well, that's not a requirement.  What is?  Well.........do you care about meeting the needs you see all around you daily?  Do you want to be instrumental in reaching the people of Republic, Missouri, the USA, and the world with the Good News of Jesus Christ?  If your answers to the last two questions are "Yes", you are qualified!  See any team member below for more information.
